BALI / Indonesia
23rd – 24th June 2018
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you in contact with Bali’s surfing scene since all the way back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions. From right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright then so here’s another quick photo installment from where we were yesterday down at Indonesia’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Ketut was on the scene by 8.00AM to find wave height in the 2-4ft+ range and with an already solid crowd in the water. Most of the action was on the Main Peak and even a few sneaky one’s rattling down the Racetrack. 50 surfers spread through the line up at Uluwatu is probably equivalent to 20 surfers on the Super bank and with wave height backing off some yesterday morning it’s pretty well expected for more surfers to turn to Uluwatu to save the day.
Weather wise here in Tuban it was a nice day with a mostly blue sky, but down on the bukit it was more over cast than sunny.
This mornings 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height to be still down in the 2-3+ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was almost on the top of a 2.2 mtr High and the wind already blowing hard out of the ESE at 10-15knot. That’s about the call for today fun sized waves from chest to almost double head high and stiff off shore wind from Kuta to Uluwatu. Canggu, Balian and Medewi would be blown out again.
Weather wise it was a bit dark and gloomy early this morning here in Tuban / South Kuta and there were a few drops fall around 8.30AM. Right now at 11.00AM we do have some patches of blue above us and we will see some sun this arvo. The wind has kept working itself up and is now in the 15-20knot class out of the ESE. Temperature wise the mercury is at 28 degree’s Celsius.
Ok that’s us for today and we hope your Sunday is going great. Stay tuned cause we will be back out there following the road to where the waves are again tomorrow.
