BALI / INDONESIA
1st – 2nd July 2018
Hello everyone and thanks for joining us here at the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since before all the rest in 1999) for the start of another surfing week and our latest news and best possible views. From right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright then so as I mentioned in yesterdays report wave height had started to drop off and coupled with a light and variable morning wind we headed towards Canggu to see what was happening on the wave front. As it shows in our latest photo gallery wave height was in the waist to head high plus class with the right hand river mouth producing the better waves. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy through until the ESE TRade wind kicked in around 9.30AM. Crowd wise it wasn’t to bad with only 20 surfers on the river mouth and another 10 or so on the left hander. It seems that most people are at the airport wanting to go home. Sounds like a perfect time for surfers to head to Bali right.
OMG department it looks like someone is trying their best to ruin as many surfing beaches as possible over here lately.. with another development happening at Pererenan beach just north of the river mouth.
Weather wise it was a bit cloudy at times with some sunny breaks, as it reflects in the photos.
Today the 2nd and Ketut and I had to pay our respects to one of my old friends and a good friends father who passed away and attend their Balinese cremation ceremony. So no surfing photos today sorry but I can tell you that it is pretty well flat out on the Outer reefs here in Tuban so I don’t think you guys have missed out on anything.
Weather wise today it’s a perfect day with nothing but bluwe sky, just perfect weather wise but not much surf. But it should only be a couple more days folks and Bali witll be going off again.
Yesterday afternoon Ketut and I also attended the opening ceremony for the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup down on Padang Padang beach. RipCurl really know how to put on a show and yesterdays opening ceremony was fantastic. Thanks again to RipCurl and great to catch up with a lot of friends down there. Stay tuned for our swell up dates and outlooks ok.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Tuban, –1US$=Rp14,200 –1AU$=Rp10,350 — With those kinda exchange rates it’s a good time for a Bali holiday !
