BALI / INDONESIA
24th – 25th July 2018
Hello surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping our Bali surf reports real since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views. From right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Well they said it would come and the predictions were pretty close to the mark I think. on the 23rd wave height was already pushing 5-8ft or 3-4 times over head while we were down there on the scene. That was also the day that quite a few hotels and villa’s burned to the ground. So it’s all been happening down on the bukit the last couple of days, Today the 25th and pow we’ve got some of the biggest waves that I’ve ever seen in the best part of 25 years of full time here on the island. I can say that one time at least,n pre internet I can remember Uluwatu that big that no one actually surfed it and we were pretty crazy back in the day. But anyway you look at today’s waves it was bloody huge and too big for most locations and most surfers. We did sneak back up the coast to a place that needs a lot of swell to even break, and this morning there were 5-8 footers with some waves closing out right across the bay.
Tomorrow the 26th should see wave height back off some but it’s still going to be pretty big I reckon. Ketut and I are free to chase the waves tomorrow so we’ll have it all covered. Make sure you keep an eye on the baliwaves for news and up dates (Twitter) through out the day.
Have a good one and talk to ya’s again soon
