BALI / Indonesia
30th June – 1st July 2018
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves ( keeping you up to date with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions. From right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so here’s another action filled photo gallery from where we were yesterday. You guessed it right. With a drop in wave height we were back down at Uluwatu, looking for some shelter from the gusty ESE Trade wind. As it shows wave height was still hanging in there in the 3-4ft class with a couple of solid freak sets every now again again.
Today the 1st of July and with calm or light and variable wind this morning I thought we’d take a run up the coast to Zombie land where the tourists are more beautiful and surf way better than anyone else.. Canggu. Well sometimes it appears that way anyway ? But this morning we were on the ball and lucky to find wave heigth in the chest to head high plus region with a light but clean off shore wind. Nice waves on both the left and the right and unusually low numbers in the water. I’ll get some photos on line for ya’s asap ok.
Weather wise today it’s been a beautiful Sunday morning here in South Kuta / Tuban with pretty well just blue sky and sun shine. The wind was nice and light early but around 9.30AM the ESE Tradey started to kick in with gusts up to 12knot+.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.2mtr Low at 5.54PM
I’ve also had a phone call from our family mountain side village in the foot hills of Mt Agung calling all clear and no smoke or steam coming out of the crater.
Make sure you get down to the Opening Ceremony of the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup this afternoon at 3 PM. You can meet the surfers taking place in the event and be entertained with a traditional Balinese Kacak fire dance, all welcome.
Our Fitness Guru Clive from “Ask Clive” has also sent us through another great article on keeping in shape and staying paddle fit, so make sure you check out Clive’s fitness tips.
