BALI / INDONESIA
3rd -4th September 2018
Hello everyone and thanks for tuning into the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions. From right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 3rd there was still plenty of waves around the island and with the light wind both sides were offering waves. Unfortunately I had a tonne of stuff to get through here at Home Base and didn’t get a chance to get out and surf or shoot any photos. My surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left in the waist to head high class and maybe even a few slightly bigger set waves hitting Middle Reef.
This morning the 4th and with wave height down a touch on yesterday we headed back to Canggu knowing there would have to be something breaking with a few different options available. We pulled up in the car park next the the Temple and our first view of the ocean was of well over a hundred learners in the water at Batu Bolong and Old Mans. looked like the surf schools are hard at it in this area of soft waves.
Wave height on the 3 main breaks of Canggu down to Pererenan was in the waist to head high class with clean and tidy conditions, but with a dropping tide. Plenty of local rippers in the water and we will let today’s fresh photo gallery do the talking from here on in. Surfing conditions remained clean and glassy through until around 10.45AM today which was a bit of a bonus for Canggu.
Weather wise it wasn’t too bad early in the morning but turned a little more overcast as the day developed. Right now at 5.45PM it’s overcast with the wind coming out of the SSE-S.
We have also posted some photos and up dates from our friends who have been helping and following what has been happening over in Lombok after the devastating earthquakes that are still continuing to affect the locals to this day. Please take a read and look and if you frequent Lombok please help out if you can.
Ok this is going to do me for now as we have got more surf trips planned for tomorrow morning. So stay tuned to our Twitter and Instagram feed for more news and info through out the morning.
