BALI / INDONESIA
22nd October 2018
Hi folks and thanks for taking the time out to stop by the baliwaves (the working mans Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views. From right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
The working mans Bali surf report and that’s a certainty right there. No you don’t have to be a pro or a legend to appear on the baliwaves, just surf reports for surfers by surfers. So we hope your digging the site, I know some of you have been tuning in since we first started sending out Bali surf reports back in the infancy or innocent days of the internet, thanks again.
Ok today’s er, colorful photo gallery was captured down at one of our favorite hang outs down on the Southern end of the island at Balangan beach. We were down there at 6.00AM just as the first surfer was paddling out. Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy with the off 3ft or head high set waves rolling through. Probably not the best waves on the island today but still pretty good and no one could complain about the number of surfers in the water.
As the morning and tide filled in so did the surf schools start arriving and the Sunday night party crew. By the time we were finished and eating breakfast there might have been something like 80 surfers spread through the big line up, all having a ball I’d say.
Weather wise it was a sweet morning here in Bali with light wind and a mostly blue sky. We have had some cloud filling in through this afternoon and there might be a few drops of rain somewhere on the island later tonight.

The forecast for the 23rd is looking a touch smaller wave wise and my guess is for more light and variable wind before a mid morning Southerly change. I’ve got a plan up my sleeve so stay tuned right here for more news and up dates through our Twitter and Instagram feeds on baliwaves through out the morning.
Don’t forget our friends at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp are offering some nice fat discounts for any surfers wanting to head in for the late season un crowded special. Just contact us first here at baliwaves and we’ll deliver the goods.
