BALI / INDONESIA
26th – 27th December 2018
Hello everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you up to date with Bali’s working class surfing scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views. From right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok well we certainly do hope that everyone made it through Christmas / Galungan without gaining to much weight around the waist line, and got to spent some quality time with family and friends. Now all we have to do is make it through the New Year celebrations and it’ll be back to business as usual.
Well just like you I guess we spent the last couple of days with our family up in our mountain side village in the highlands of Karangasem. I always love heading up there and hanging out with some very genuine Balinese folks away from the hustle.. and bustle of modern day Bali.
Here’s a hand full of fresh photos we shot just before we went off line (up in the mountains your lucky to get a phone signal let alone internet). The weather over the last few days has been very ordinary but pretty much the norm for this time of the year. As it shows in these photos. But I tell ya it wasn’t cloudy with rain up in the mountains it was scorching hot through the day time and about as cool as it gets (in Bali) through the night.
We still have a couple more days of this crappy strong West – West South West wind to get through but next week is looking much better with some very light and variable wind predicted. We should also see a little more swell to go with the light wind and then a better swell around the 3rd of Jan to help kick off the New Year.
Ok then we’ll tryt and get out for some more photos and surf reports tomorrow weather permitting so stay tuned to the original Bali surf report.
Don’t forget if your looking for a new board, fins or absolutely anything surf related make sure to head into the BOARDRIDERS mega surf store at Echo Beach Cangu for the largest range of surfboards and accessories. Tell em baliwaves sent ya !
