Howdy crew and welcome back to your baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since back when it all began) for our latest news and best possible views on today’s surf here on the island of the Gods. From right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali of course.
Ok, so this morning proved yesterdays swell prediction to be pretty well spot on. We were up before the sun but we also took a little gamble on where to surf this morning and ended up opting for a not perfect but with no crowd session at the Gu. The wind was still fairly light when we set off from home but already out of the West which kinda blows cross / on shore at Canggu. Wave height was down a touch on yesterday as well but the Gu was still delivering some solid over head sand bottom grinders for the very small crew in attendance this morning.
As it shows in today’s fresh photo gallery the local Canggu Boys that are there every day namely Putu Swastika Gemuk (Surfers Bar Warung owner) and Arya (Canggu Lifeguard) were finding the best shaped waves with lottsa local knowledge on tap. It was also good to spot a few baliwaves stickers on boards in the water, these surfers are always going to get photos right. So Hit us up for your board stickers next time you see us out ok.
Weather wise today we haven’t had any rain but it has been mostly over cast from Canggu to here in South Kuta today. Right now the wind has swung a little more to the SW with gusts up to 14knot.
Tomorrows surf forecast is saying to expect wave height to back down a touch more but still should be enough to have some fun in the chest to over head head class (depending on location) Another early morning low tide and the wind should be ok early turning to the WSW by mid morning.
SURF CAM up date, well I’ve never been a big fan of surf cams, ever. Always been a go down the beach and take a look for myself type of surfer since way back. So as of yesterday we took off the two cams we have had on baliwaves. The Surfline “Uluwatu” cam always seemed to be not working for starters so we don’t want to just collect your imprint / click and waste your time. For me there’s nothing worse that a “dead link” that wastes my time. Our Impossible’s Cam we also pretty much a big pain in the arse and just too much maintenance. With constant everyday crowds at Keramas and Canggu we don’t want to be any part of that cause. So get off your bum / mobile phone and go take a look and see what the surf is doing for yourself.
SURF WRITERS dept, if you’ve got something to contribute that other surfers might like to have a read of, maybe a funny yarn or some helpful experience to share. Please send it through and we’ll publish it here on the baliwaves, drop me a line and have a chat if you want.
