BALI / INDONESIA
20th – 21st March 2019
Hi folks and thanks for dropping in for another baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) session. For our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so if our latest photo gallery is a little confusing as to location then that’s good. Yeah / nah, yesterday we covered a couple of different locations over on the Eastern side of the island. As it shows wave height was in the 3-4ft range or head to well over head high, and there were a few bigger sets early pushing double head high but they didn’t last long with the in coming tide. Surfing conditions were nice and clean with the wind coming out of the NW – WNW through the morning before dedicating more to the W-WNW after lunch. As it also reflects onto the photos the sky was also mostly overcast and dull.
Today the 21st and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing 2-4ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was just starting to push back in at the time and the wind was fresh out of the NW.
Looking for waves today you can pretty well take your pick anywhere from Nusa Dua to Keramas should still have some fun sized waves on offer with cleaner wind.
The next tide today will be a solid 2.6mtr High at 10.29AM.
Weather wise right now at 11.00AM is still looking a bit overcast around this part of the island but hopefully we shopuld see more blue sky as the day goes on. Wind is W-WNW at 8-12knot. Temperature is still a nice comfy 29 degree’s Celsius and should warm up into the low 30’s by early afternoon.
Swell Outlook is not looking too bad with plenty of movement down in the Indian Ocean. How ever there are two different TC’s out there in the mix as well. The closest one, and the one that will have the most effect on Bali is just down below Indonesia off North Western Australia. The other TC is out more down towards Madigascar at this stage. So we will have to wait and see how much they do effect us. It sure is looking pretty wild down in that 40S lat with some big storms and waves being generated. Fingers crossed we should be in for some good waves over the next 7-10 days.
