BALI / INDONESIA
27th – 28th April 2019
Hi everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since right back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
On the 27th we made our way back over to the Eastern side of the island hoping to score more un crowded waves. With a light and clean early morning off shore wind out of the North we made our way back to the same location but the head to almost double head waves of the day before had backed off down into the waist to head high range. But there was a few little runners and only a handful of surfers in the water.
Yesterday the 28th we hit Canggu around 6.30AM, as it shows in our latest photo gallery there were plenty of waves on offer with a light off shore ENE wind. No shortage of surfers hanging out at the Gu but some nice and punchy little waves in the chest to well over head high class. Surfing conditions stayed clean and tidy until the ESE-SE Trade wind kicked in at 9.45AM.
I also had a play around with our new GoPro 7 in the shore break but without any fins on it was tough to get close enough to the action most of the time. I’ll see how we go next time with fins on. Plus we also shot a little bit of video footage and we will make that a regular event when we hit the waves and start posting our own video clips again like we used to.
Weather wise it was beauty with no shortage of blue sky and sun shine. Temperature wise the mercury hit 32 degree’s by midday.
Today the 29th and right now at 10.50AM the ESE Trade wind is just starting to kick in here on the West Coast. Our 7.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left to be in the 2-3ft range. Middle Reef was picking up the bigger set waves. Surf conditions were clean and glassy at the time.
Weather wise we have a light over cast sky that should clear up by midday
Best bet for a wave today would have to be down at Uluwatu now that the Tradey has kicked in.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 1.1mtr Low at 1.30PM
Tomorrows surf forecast is looking pretty much the same as today’s conditions with a light and variable wind through the morning session before turning to the ESE.
