BALI / INDONESIA
14th April 2019
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you in tight with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our Sunday Session with the latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so as I mentioned in yesterdays Surf Forecast wave height did indeed bump up a notch this morning. Our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing some half decent 2-4 footers breaking between Kuta reef and Airport Left. The wind at the time was a light ENE but since then has pretty much done a whole 360 of the compass.
As it shows in our latest photo gallery today our team made the trip over to Keramas on the East Coast on a hunch. Bang, right on the money for some ultra perfect, just like it used to break waves. Only around 20 surfers in the water while we were there with wave height pushing the double head high class on the bigger sets.
Weather wise, well after a light overcast start to our day by 12 midday it was actually pissing down rain. But only lasting for an hour tops and now at 4.00PM we are back to blue sky again. The wind has been light and variable for most of the day, then around 2.00PM it has shifted to the ENE but still under 10knot.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 1.8mtr High at 5.49PM
Tomorrows Surf Forecast, it’s looking like today’s bump in wave height should be peaking late this evening and into tonight then backing off again through tomorrow and the 16th. It also looks like we can expect the wind to favor the E-ENE so good hunting.
Long Range Surf Forecast, ok if you have taken a look through today’s photo gallery you would have noticed some very serious swell in transit to Indonesia (thanks to STORMSURF). Our next swell should will be of moderate size and smack into Bali around the 17th, peaking on the 18th and then tapering off until another slightly bigger swell rolls in on the 21st. Both of these two swells have a fair bit of Southerly direction involved. The whole Indian Ocean is lit up and I can also see more systems in transit to us behind these ones.
NB: if your in the market for a new board, fins, leashes or just about anything to do with surfing or cool stuff, head straight to the BOARDRIDERS mega SURF SHOP located 20mtrs back from Echo Beach at Canggu. Ask for Dicky he’s been known to do some crazy deals on new and used boards.
Right so if it’s starting to get a bit cold downunder you guys know where to come for some winter warmth and perfect waves, Bali. just CONTACT me if you need a hand with anything, and if we can help we will.
