BALI / INDONESIA
21st – 22nd May 2019
Hi folks and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 22nd and with not a hell of a lot of swell hitting Bali we thought we’d sneak up to Canggu and hit it just as the sun was starting to rise. Arriving there before sun rise to find wave height in the waist to head high class with a light and clean off shore wind. The tide was just starting to come off the bottom so it looked like we were getting the best of what was on offer. But, as soon as the sun did pop up over the horizon there was a steady stream of surfers coming down the beach and it reminded me of baby turtles making their way down to the ocean, they were everywhere. Looing a little further to the South to Batu Bolong and Berawa there must have been at least a few hundred learners all honing their skills for next seasons assault on Canggu.
Weather wise it was mostly overcast with a few drops of rain before the sun popped out late morning.
Today the 23rd and hopefully we might see a small bump in wave height and we will be hitting the road on the wave hunt shortly. So make sure you keep an eye on our on sight Twitter feed for our daily “Bali Morning Surf n Weather Report” to see how it really is here in Bali.
