BALI / INDONESIA
3rd – 4th May 2019
Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali’s surfing and weather scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so the last couple of days we have been heading straight over to Keramas on Bali’s East Coast hoping to score some nice waves and a few barrels. With the WSL Pro Surfing contest scheduled very soon at this location, so it doesn’t really matter where you try and sneak a wave in there are going to be Pro surfers or would be pro surfers there. These photos were shot yesterday the 3rd with some of the bigger set waves pushing double head high plus. Low numbers in the water which was un usual but still some very high performance surfing going down.
Today the 4th and wave height this morning at Keramas had dropped off a touch as per our baliwaves “Tomorrows Surf Forecast”. But there were still some solid 4 to almost 5 footers coming through. Only today there was over 30 surfers in the water, some Pro’s and lots of would be Pro’s mixed in with regular Joes, and all hungry as hippos.
We also managed to shoot a tonne of video footage while we were on location so I’ll work on getting that edited up into some kinda format for ya’s ASAP.
Weather wise today it was a mostly hot and sunny morning with some cloud cover towards mid morning. Temperature wise over on the black sand beach of Keramas was cooking, or bloody hot.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is telling me to expect another slight drop in wave height, but there still should be plenty on offer all over the island. Expect the wind to be light and variable for the early morning session before the ESE-SE Trade wind kicks in around 9.30 – 10.00AM.
Looking further out we should see a slight bump in wave height on the 6th then fading on the 7th. Then late on the 8th a more solid swell should smack into Bali that should keep building into a moderate to large swell by the 10th.
