BALI / INDONESIA
17th – 18th June 2019
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report since back in 1999) Make sure you keep on reading for more information on cheap surfers accommodation, surf, tide and weather info, discounts into G-Land and lots of other stuff.
Hey surfers here’s another fresh photo gallery that we shot yesterday here on Bali’s West Coast. With a light variable early morning breeze the best option for a photo shoot in clean waves and un limited subjects had to be at Canggu. As it shows wave height was in the 3-4ft class and surfing conditions very clean and tidy. The tide made the lefts on the Sandbar section a bit to fat as the tide filled in and put the focus over to the rights on the Pererenan river mouth. Around 40 surfers pilled into the take off area and some red hot surfing going down.
Today the 19th and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was only showing wave height breaking in the 1-3ft range between Kuta reef and Airport Left. The tide was running in fast after last nights Full Moon and I’d say would have fattened out the waves on the Peak.
I had Ketut take a run over to the East Coast to see what was happening at the other webcammed wave of Keramas. I haven’t checked today’s photos as yet but Ketut reckons there was some good ones coming through in the 2-4ft+ range but with a solid early morning crew of 30+ surfers in the line up.
Please take care and never ever leave any valuables in your car or under your motorbike seat as I’ve heard more reports of thieves plying their trade along some of the more secluded parking areas around Bali.
Weather wise today it’s a mostly hot and sunny winters day here in Bali. Temperature wise the mercury is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius at 12.05pm. Wind direction is coming out of the ESE-SE at 15-22km/h.
Tomorrows surf outlook is calling for light and variable early morning breeze with similar sized waves through the morning before we start to see some new swell show around Bali. Further out we should see a medium to moderate sized new swell hit Bali on the 19th taking us through to the 21st. This new system looks to have a little more West direction so hopefully it will hit the better West coast locations with better angle than our last one did.
Also if you have any young surfers with the potential to excel and to get some professional training and coaching in all aspects of surfing then check out Tipi Jabriks “Grom Patrol” Bali surf training camp and contests that’s coming up soon.
You might have also noticed a new sponsor / advertiser on our home page (just above the surf report photos) a big welcome aboard to our old friends at SURFRESQ. These guys have a new device that will put your broken leg rope back together in seconds and will become a standard part of your surfing kit in the future. Check it out and see for yourself.
