BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
17th May 2020
Firstly we do know from first hand experience how tough it is here in Bali with absolutely no support other than friends and family. We would also like to offer a free promotional service to any other small outfits / businesses that are surf related here in Indonesia and Australia. So in turn we have told all our sponsors that we will be waving any fee’s until things are getting back to normal again. Please contact us to see if your eligible for free promotiuon on baliwaves. We are surfers doing this for our fellow surfers and will hopefully continuing to do our thing for many years to come.
Hello surfers and Bali lovers and thanks again for staying in tune with the baliwaves. We have been doing our best through out the Bali Corona Virus to keep everyone up to date with not only our old archived Bali photos and video clips but also with our Bali Lock Down blog.
Today I’ve had another dig into the photo vault and the next folder had these August Dry Season gems inside. Back in the day all the fishing boats heading out from Jimbaran Bay all were wind powered sail boats and it was a colorful display most morning and afternoon, taking advantage of the Trade wind.
Currently on the surf scene the last couple of days have been quite here on the Outer Reefs. Mainly due to the southerly swell direction that is mostly hitting the Eastern side of the island. Today we might see another slight bump in size and I’ll be heading down the beach later this afternoon to check on my fishing boat so I’ll get a good look at conditions then. The ESE Trade wind has been blowing hard the last week with gusts up to 20knot and pretty much blowing 24 hours a day. On the Moon Phase we have just gone past the middle and starting to fade to the New or “Dark” Moon. The tide in Bali today will be a 1.0mtr Low at 1.42pm.
On the swell Forecasting front the best surf forecast on the net (Stormsurf) models are showing we should see a solid swell to hit Bali on or close to the 25th – 26th of this month. Hopefully Bali’s beaches will be open for it, fingers crossed. But I think we may have to wait till June before we get the liberty of surfing back. Speaking of closed beaches the local Banjar at Berawa has finally had enough of the beach lock down abusers and put up serious gates and doing more policing of that area that has seen a lot of law flaunters from the *Western sector.
If any of our friends can spare a dollar or two to help out please drop it in our PayPal account [email protected] it really will be a big help. Special thanks to our good friends that have kicked in some dollars to help my family and I to keep food on our table, lights on and baliwaves.com being able to help keep you in the loop.
