BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
28th – 29th June 2020
Firstly we do know from first hand experience how tough it is here in Bali with absolutely no support other than friends and family. We would also like to offer a free promotional service to any other small outfits / businesses that are surf related here in Indonesia and Australia. So in turn we have told all our sponsors that we will be waving any fee’s until things are getting back to normal again. Please contact us to see if your eligible for free promotion on baliwaves. Special thanks to our good friends that have kicked in some dollars to help my family and I keep food on our table, lights on and baliwaves.com being able to help keep you in the loop.
baliwaves.com is happy to be able to give our friends at JOWA SURF a little love with some promo on us. As we mention above times are tough and we are here to help any small local business with a little more awareness through baliwaves.com
Hello everyone just for the record this latest photo gallery was shot in July of 2010 here on the Outer Reefs of South Kuta.
Ok well yesterday and today wave height had backed off some but there were still waves to be had. The early to mid morning session was best suited to the low tide wave on Middle Reef. Wave height has been a fairly consistent chest to head high with maybe a few slightly bigger ones. The wind was light and variable on sun up but by 8-9am the off shore Easterly Trade wind was starting to kick in. Reaching gusts into the 15-20knot class by midday.
Tomorrow morning I think we can still expect to see similar sized waves with swell with more South direction starts to show sometime through the afternoon. We are expecting some more solid waves hitting Bali for the 1st day of July.
Weather wise we’ve had more sun shine than anything but there have been a few scattered showers. The water temp is starting to cool down and this afternoon it was around 22 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast, By the 30th we should see a new medium to large swell should hit Indonesia and light up all locations from Acheh up above the Ments all the way to Bali and East to Sumbawa. This swell should peak here in Bali late on the 30th but more likely the biggest waves hitting on the 1st of July. Another smaller more Southerly swell should come in around the 3rd before another medium blanketing system possibly arriving on the 5th- 6th of July. July looks like it will be starting off with a bang and way out on the long range forecast there is another big system that we will be keeping an eye on.
On the Bali Corona Virus situation as I mentioned things do appear to be getting a little worse and more local transmitions than what we want to see. On Saturday we hit an all time high of 100 new positive cases. Today the numbers have backed off quite a lot but that has been the normal with less testing being performed on Sundays. But hopefully we will see more downward trends in new cases and an upward trend in recoveries over this new week. Bali also recorded 2 more deaths yesterday taking the total number of “official” fatalities to 13.
Bali’s International airport remains closed with no International flights in or out. The Domestic terminal is open but with strict restrictions and requirements for arrivals or departures. No Temporary Visa’s are or will be issued here in Bali until further notice from the department of Immigration. The ferry terminals in and out of Bali are open but also have strict requirements in place.
ATTENTION DEPARTMENT, On the Bali Aid cause our good friend Nicole Polley is organizing a worthy fundraiser that is targeting the needy. A great way for friends with friends here in Bali to lend a hand. Take a look at what Nicole and her friends are doing and maybe there is some one you know here in Bali that needs your help, The real reality of it is, if you know someone here in Bali through being on holiday then those people are battling to keep food on the table and the house lights on. Please if you can drop a couple of bucks into Nicole’s account. Nicole is helping a lot of people at ground level, I know personally as my family received a basic food relief package as well.
