Bali Surf & Weather report (PPKM)
4th – 5th September 2021
Hello surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since 1999). Bali is still currently under micro restrictions (PPKM) and has been now extended again through till the September 6th. Although Bali’s domestic airport and inter island ferry services are open it is now only for fully vaccinated people.
Ok well this last week we have seen some storm weather conditions and some slightly out of character Southerly wind. Even so there has been a few waves out the front on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. Not the best but Kuta Reef, Airport Left and Middle Reef have been providing a lot of waves for all types of visiting surfers.
Today the 5th and Ray and I thought we would take a run over to the East Coast. It’s been a while since we have headed across island, mostly due to the strong gusty ESE-SE wind we have been getting prior to this last week just gone. This morning the wind was lighter but still pre dominantly out of the South. Over at Keramas this morning the wind was light on shore but surfing conditions were still clean and glassy.
Wave height was in the solid head to double head high plus and with the lack of off shore wind just a little bit wobbly and shifting around. But I’d say the 5 lone surfers that were in the water on the top of the high tide would have been very happy with today’s waves at Keramas. No locals in the water while Ray and I were on the scene.
Weather wise today it was another stormy type of morning. No rain but cloudy and only a few brief moments of sun shine. Right now at 12.40pm it’s a warm m29 degrees Celsius outside, Humidity is at 72%. Wind direction is now out of the E-SE at 15km/h.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.3mtr Low at 3.19pm. Tomorrow we have a New Moon rising so more big tidal ranges over the next few days.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to drop down a touch but I’d say the East Coast will still have some solid swell hitting it. Slightly smaller here on the West Coast of Bali. Wind direction will also still have a bit of South in it and not quite straight off shore, Tradewind style.
Longer Range Surf Forecast shows a new swell arriving on the 7th nothing massive but a nice continuation run of waves and then again on the 9th a slightly bigger swell will run in on the back of the previous.
On the Corona Virus situation here in Bali we are still in “PPKM” or micro lock down that has been further extended now until the 6th of Sept. According to the latest numbers and stats on Bali’s number of recorded infections the numbers are looking great. But there has also been a massive drop in the number of tests being done so its still fingers crossed. Wear a mask, avoid crowds and keep washing the hands.

Ok friends’ thanks again for hanging in there and believe me we are trying our best to act normal and can’t wait to see the end of this. It’s now going on 20 months of bugger all income and only just surviving from our friends that have felt my pain from a far.
