Howdy Bali surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves for our latest news and the best views on surfing and weather conditions right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination.
Yesterday the 26th (current photo gallery) we were yet again up and on the road for the love of surfing long before the dawn. We made it to our primary just as the sun was rising to find no surfers in the water and head to over head high set waves breaking. Unfortunately at the time the wind was fresh out of the WSW making conditions very untidy. We thought about hanging around to see if conditions improved but then we would be giving up our dawn patrol advantage.
So from there we traveled all the way up to Keramas where we found some clean and very tidy waves in the chest to well over head high class. The tide was just about on the bottom of the low but it was very do able with only 7-8 surfers already in the water. As the tide filled in so did a a steady trickle of surfers into the line up, peaking around 25-30. We were also seeing a slow but steady increase in wave height. The wind also moved a little more into the WSW quadrant around 11.00am.
Today the 27th and we were hoping to see some remnant of yesterdays new swell so we were back to our primary at 6.00am. We did hang around for a couple of hours drinking coffee and having a laugh with some our local mates, hoping to see some set waves. But there wasn’t anything really. Eventually cruising up to Keramas for a look but the wind was was already fresh out of the SE, believe it or not. We also stopped in at “Secrets” for a sticky beak and there were some good looking sand banks but again the wind was into it and a solid crowd of surfers in the water.
Tomorrow’s another day and we will give it another shot. So stay tuned to our morning facebook surf and weather video report.
Weather wise today it’s been a mostly hot and sunny one here on the holiday island. Right now at 3.30pm it is still a warm 31C with the humidity at 76%. Wind direction is indeed coming out of the SW at 10km/h
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast has the wave models calling another slight drop in wave height with light and variable wind.
