Hmm ok well it’s been a bit like that but who’s complaining ? I’m stoked to have a photo slash video over load and soon enough there will be time to show all I’m sure. But for now lets duck back in time to the 23rd cause that’s when we shot these photos. Sorry there are no Pro’s or hot chicks in any of the photos. Nope just my crew was in the water this morning, just taking turns between themselves. As it shows it wasn’t too shabby either.
Yesterday the 24th and we tried our luck back on the black sand again but wave height had backed off down into the 2-3ft class. There wasn’t any other surfers around, so why not. The wind was off shore and the water clear. But it was a bit of a wait between set waves. Just to clear our minds we thought we would drive back up to Keramas and see if wave height was any better there. Nope it was also only in the 1-3ft with maybe just a slightly bigger freak set. Not too shabby either I guess with only 8 surfers in the water.
Today trying to find some decent waves we were forced to drive up to Balian up on the far West Coast. Arriving around 7am to find a super clean A frame Peak in the 3-4ft+ range and clean off shore wind. I was kind of amazed to see only 10 surfers in the water with such good conditions on offer. I hadn’t had the news yet. But 5 mins later the local boys filled me in of yet another incident happening here only just yesterday. A lone surfer paddled out just before the sun up and had his right hand nibbled on. I actually met the young bloke who it happened to and he was pretty cool about it and in good shape with 26 stitched from the local hospital.
There was a lot of talk about some saturation netting about to take place to try and keep the waves open to surfing. I’ll keep you in the loop as I hear more on it.
Weather wise it was a beautiful day here on the magical tropical surfing holiday island and right now it’s still blue sky from one end to the other.
That’s all I got for now as it’s just gone 4.45pm and I need to get down the beach for an afternoon surf check for tomorrow’s call. Thanks again and stay tuned right here on the baliwaves.com for the latest news and best possible views.
