Wow the last couple of days have gone by in a blur. Starting off on the 21st I spent the day out in the boat with my first mate Ray. We pushed the boat out around 6.30am with plenty of food and ice in anticipation of putting some fish in the boat. There was a new swell kicking in and the wind was already fresh out of the SE so I knew we were going to be in for an interesting session. We were hoping that the Wahoo were still on the bite but they had moved and things were looking kinda tricky cruising over 6 feet swells out off Uluwatu. As the tide turned we were lucky to hook into some schools of solid Tuna, well for our light line and rods 5kg Tuna put on a good fight. Freezer is full and our neighbours all happy.
Yesterday the 22nd and as it shows in our latest photo gallery we have up we loaded up the van this time and called road trip to Medewi. Leaving at 5.00am we had an relatively smooth run up Bali’s most dangerous highway that winds and weaves all the way up to the lifeline ferry’s to and from East Java. Arriving at 6.45am to find a clean 3-4ft swell breaking at Medewi and with the tide just starting to run in it was un crowded. Clean and glassy conditions that lasted through until around 9.30am when the ESE Trade wind kicked in. We took it easy after surf toweling down and watching the number of learner surfers roll up with the approaching high tide, which is much the much these days. Great to catch up with the Medewi surfers as always.
This morning the 23rd and we were back over on the black sand beach. I was hoping the swell of yesterday was still showing. Arriving just as the sun was rising to find some clean little waves in the 2-4ft class with a cool and crisp off shore wind. We didn’t much around as there were no surfers in the water or in sight. Eventually we were joined by another 4 surfers. I snapped a few photos of today as well and will get a few up on line for ya’s tomorrow afternoon or ASAP.
Weather wise today it’s been a hot and sunny Tuesday here on the holiday island and right now at 3.10pm the temp is still on 29C humidity is at 69%. Wind direction is out of the ESE at 26km/h.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.06mtr Low at 6.33pm
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for almost the same size waves as today but with the period jumping from 14 second up to 15 seconds. Light wind early before the ESE – SE Trade wind kicks in around mid morning.
That’s all I have for now peeple but stay tuned for more of the latest news and best views as they happen.
