This morning the 9th and finally we had some nice sunny weather and some nice waves to go with it, hopefully it’s going to stay that way seeing as though we are half way through the dry season. So you couldn’t hold us back this morning and with the tide just starting to run in we were on location at Uluwatu. Indonesia’s premier surfing location that started the ball rolling back in the early 70’s.
It had been a few weeks since I was last down at Ulu and the pace that it is transforming into another Canggu is a little scary but that’s progress. The waves how ever were just as good as they always have been. This morning I arrived to find there were still some 3-4 footers peeling down the Racetrack but it was filling in quick. The Main Peak was just starting to line up and some bigger set waves in the double head high plus region were pouring through. While up at Temples the waves were lining up as the tide kept creeping in, around the head to well over head high.
Only around 50 surfers spread from Temple’s right down to the Racetrack early but by 10 am there would have been almost triple that number and getting a little hectic. Surfing conditions were perfect with a clean off shore ESE wind.
With the National school holidays just coming to an end now the traffic was a little better but still add some extra travel time if you need to get anywhere. This morning it took 1hr 15mins from Kuta to Uluwatu.
Weather wise back to Bali weather today and right now at 4.00pm the temp is on 28C with the humidity at 83%. The wind is currently ESE at 31km/h.
The last tide today here in Bali was a 2.02mtr High at 2.52pm
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for a new swell to start showing and wave height bump a notch with a period of 18 seconds. While the wind is predicted to be a fresh ESE becoming gusty by midday.
