Hello all you awesome Bali people tuning into the baliwaves for the start of another surfing week. And what a week it is going to be ! Today I have taken advantage of the small to tiny surfing conditions and put my head down again and edited another round of Bali waves that Ketut shot yesterday up the famous beach breaks of Legian. As it shows in these photos there were indeed a nice selection of left and rights, these waves can also deliver some solid punch. High tide is the best time for beach breaks from Kuta to Legian but a strong SE Trade wind can put a little crodd / off shore chop into the equation.
This morning the 1st of August and out 7.00am surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban was not looking real good. The tide was running in at the time and wave height between Kuta reef and Airport left was only in the waist to chest high at beast. I imagine the late morning high tide would have cancelled that out. But wave height is predicted to bump a little through after lunch and continuw to grow into tomorrow, fingers crossed we should have some better waves around the island tomorrow.
Weather wise w did have some cloud cover early but now at 12.30pm it’s mostly blue sky as far as I can see. Right now the temp is a warm 28C with the humidity at 82%. Wind direction is out of the ESE at 22km/h.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.19mtr Low at 4.43pm
Tomorrow also has a Full Moon rising and it will be a “super moon” August is also delivering us another Full Moon on the 31st. Two full moons in 1 month is referred to as a “blue moon” due to the in frequency of this happening.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast has the models predicting a nice bump in wave height, doubling in size at least. The period is going to jump from 13 seconds up to 16 seconds. Wind direction could be light and variable early before the Tradey kicks in around mid morning.
Balinese Galungan is happening tomorrow and baliwaves will also be celebrating this very special day. You can expect no banks open and most of Bali to shut up shop, Balinese run businesses anyway. Things will resume normally Friday the 4th. Selamat Hari Raya Galungan dan Kuningan to all Balinese.
