Yesterday the 15th while I was sitting around in waiting rooms at Bali’s biggest hospital Ketut was down enjoying the views of 6-10ft Uluwatu. I know who got the better deal. Ketut said when he arrived wave height was in the triple head high class with only maybe 10 surfers in the water. As the tide started to push in by mid morning so did the bigger set waves pushing the 4-5 times over head class. More surfers started fill in with more water over the reef. But for those of us that have surfed big Uluwatu we all know that the best waves are on the lower end of the tide. I’s image that yesterday afternoon’s low tide would have seen some bus size barrels at Padang Padang.
Today’s photos are of Uluwatu yesterday as the swell started to peak.
This morning the 16th Ketut has phoned in from Balangan beach, everyone loves Balangan beach. Something for everyone down at Balangan. But anyway he has reported back that wave height is in the double to double head high plus range with a clean off shore wind and 10 surfers in the water. I’d imagine that number will grow as we get closer to the scheduled 2.3 mtr High tide at 11.10am.
Weather wise today it’s been a nice start to the weekend with blue sky from sun rise. Right now at 10.50am the temp is a warm 28C with the humidity at 79%. Wind direction is fresh out of the ESE at 25km/h.
The next tide today will be a 2.32mtr High at 11.10am then followed by a 0.09mtr Low at 5.20pm
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is showing wave height to back off a couple of feet but there should be plenty of swell and lots of locations here in Bali on fire right through to the 20th. We are still in our Dry Season window so that ESE-SE Trade wind will be with us at least for another month.
Nb if you have a camera, Gopro, drone etc. feel free to send us your photos attached via email and we will be happy to publish your work for all to see Hit this blue link. Full credit given of course as a Guest Reporter / photographer
