Hi all and thanks for stopping by your baliwaves for our latest news and views out of Bali. Today’s views are a mixture of two locations, taken on the 25th and today the 27th. On the 26th I was called back to our main hospital for some more blood tests to make sure there is nothing too serious up with the old guy. Luckily the important parts are all ok so far. It was good news after hanging out for another 8hrs in Bali’s biggest hospital RS Sanglah.
On the 25th our day was looking really good with our first view of th ocean showing some super glassy and near perfect left handers that were only showing signs of improving with more tide and an off shore wind. Well, the tide we did get. But around 7.30am the wind pulled a switcheroo and started to slowly get stronger out of the WSW and on shore right along Bali’s West Coast. Talking to a local friend he said that the same thing happened yesterday, with the Tradey finally kicking in around 1.00pm. We hung out till 1pm hoping for a change as there was only 3 surfers left in the water. It was when we were almost back home that the wind did finally change but still only SSE.
Today the 27th I saw what looked like a small bump in wave height on the charts so we made another day break plan hoping for some “no crowd” waves. There was a bump in wave height alright. By 6.45am wave height would have been pushing 5-8ft or double to triple head high plus. It also worked out pretty good “no crowd” wise with only 3 other surfers in the water. Surfing conditions were clean with an early morning light off shore breeze. But like on the 25th it turned on shore around 8.30am.
Weather wise today perfect mid week weather with blue sky all day and still is now at 3.15pm. Temperature wise ATM it’s a warm old afternoon with the temp on 29C but feels more like 33C. The humidity is at 73% and the wind is now SE at 15km/h
The next tide will b a 0.45mtr Low at 3.17pm
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for a drop in wave height by a good foot or two with the period also dropping 15 to 13 seconds. Then late tomorrow afternoon a reversal with wave height and it’s period starting to jump again. It should be on through the 29th and 30th.
