Good morning Bali people and welcome to the weekend. Saturday the 23rd and we thought we would sneak up the coast a little ways to the black sanded beach and try our luck before the Friday night party goers woke up to it. We knew there was going to be a bit of a bump in wave height and that the wind should be blowing in our favor. It was nice and refreshing to turn up just after the dawn to an empty line up and some nice and long walled 3-5 footers. Oh yeah with that light off shore wind.
WE had a nice little 1-.5hr window to ourselves before a few other surfers made the scene. But as the tide continued to run out wave height also started to wave a little bit, back down into the 2-4ft range. Surfing conditions started clean until 8.45am when the wind first shifted to the West and then South West and then all the way around dedicating to the SE.
Weather wise it was a tip top morning with a mostly clear sky before some cloud started to roll in just before mid morning.
Today the 24th and it’s a good looking Sunday coming on. Lots of blue sky and the temperature is already a pleasant 28 at 10.00am. Wave height has bumped a little more again this morning and the Outer reefs of South Kuta should be lighting up as the tide starts to push back in around midday. Bingin should have some nice sized barrels right about now and maybe even a few at Impossibles. The Trade wind has started to kick in and currently blowing ESE at 15km/h. I’ll be heading back down the beach for an afternoon surf check so keep an eye out for our afternoon video report on the baliwaves Facebook page.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.8mtr Low at 11.06am and the next moon phase will be a Full Moon of the 29th
Tomorrow’s predicted Surf Forecast is saying that wave height will start to taper off and drop down a foot or two with the period also falling from 16 to 14 seconds. Wave height will be faltering a little until yet another New medium swell hits Bali on the 29th. I’ll say it again, if you are chasing big swell in Indo mark September on you calendar.
