photos photos photos, here’s another quick dump from a couple of days back here on Bali’s West Coast. We were just starting to see a bit more swell after a few smallish days and was a welcome relief. Yesterday the 5th and we snuck down to Balangan beach for the early morning low tide. Early morning Low tide Balangan is a great option as the learner contingency doesn’t usually turn up until there is enough water covering the rocks. Yesterday was no different with only a handful of surfers braving the low tide. Wave height was growing with the incoming tide and soon enough we were seeing some double to triple head high set waves peeling off. As the tide filled in and the ESE Trade wind kicked in there were some very nice waves peeling through at Balangan. Photos are coming asap
Today the 6th and we were looking at this new swell to peak today and I’m pretty sure it did. With an early morning light and variable breeze we headed down to the black sand beach on the East side of the island. Eight surfers were already in the line up as we made our way into position with some at the time 4-6 foot waves coming through. It was a bit wobbly early but there was around an hour of pumping 5-8ft very clean and tidy waves pumping through. By that time there was 22 surfers in the water and more arriving. I guess plenty of people were waiting on this swell, just like us. Yep, photos coming asap
Weather wise we drove through a few drops of rain but by midday it was blue sky and clear sailing. Right now at 4.30pm it’s still a warm 27C, humidity is at 79%. Wind direction is fresh out of the SE at 31km/h.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.39mtr Low tide just before 7.30pm tonight.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to start tapering off again with the period falling back to 14 seconds. More fresh ESE wind is predicted.
