We did get down to the beach yesterday for an afternoon surf check at 4.00pm. Well surf check was secondary cleaning the weed growth off the bottom of our boat was our main objective. But seeing as though the boat is moored right in front of Kuta reef it’s a no brainer. There wasn’t much happening on the reefs, especially being on the bottom of the low tide wave height would have only been in the 1-2ft range from Kuta Reef right around to Airport Right. The strong off shore ESE-SE Trade wind certainly has cooled the top layer of water temp along the West coast I can personally attest too.
This morning the 14th and our 6.45am surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing a very slight improvement in wave height. As predicted wave height has increased just a little into the 1-3ft range between Kuta reef and Airport left. The ESE off shore Trade wind was already present so surfing conditions were clean and tidy. Wave height is predicted to continue to slowly creep up through out the day and we will get another afternoon surf check to see how it does.
Reports in from the East coast was saying wave height in the Keramas area was also still only in the 1-2ft range with the ESE Trade wind delivering fresh on shore wind. Our man said that there were around 20 surfers in the water at 7.30am. Our good friend Steve H up the coast at Balian has also sent us through some photos and even the mighty swell magnet location has also only been just in the 2-3ft+ range the last few days.

Weather wise today it’s been a mostly over cast morning around most of the island. Temperature wise right now at 9.12am it’s a mild 26C with the humidity at 87%. Wind direction is fresh out of the SE at 26km/h.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 2.18mtr High at 9.59am followed by a 0.22mtr Low at 4.24pm.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast has the wave models starting to jump considerably and we should be seeing some solid swell hitting Indonesia and maybe even a little bigger on the 16th. Usually with new swell we can also expect some gusty off shore ESE-SE wind. The wave period is jumping up to 18 seconds this morning and then settling back into a moderate 16 second period late this afternoon.
