Hi all you Bali lovers and thanks for stopping by for our Sunday Session. Just for the record yesterday the 21st and our surf check on the Outer reefs here in South Kuta was only showing wave height in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta reef and Airport Left. The wind was light off shore at the time and tide still running out. So we opted to clean the boat and rest up for today the 22nd’s predicted bump in wave height.
So we set off early this morning predawn and the wild west highway, in hope of some reward in the way of clean and tidy waves for our effort. There was no wind when we pulled into the warung car park and even better there were no other cars or motor biked parked there either. So it was nice to see some 2-4ft+ waves breaking on the big open line up. The outside A frame was a little bit sloppy but the inside left and Ketut’s right were nice and glassy. Only 6 surfers early and I think the crowd might have peaked at 20 then at one stage there were only 4 surfers in the water.
Even when we were having our brekky at 9.30am there was only maybe 15 surfers in the water and still some waves. Although by that time the wind was starting to puff up out of the West and on shore.
Weather wise today the morning started off overcast and misty but the sun soon burnt that off and it ended up just another hot and sunny Sunday up along Bali’s West Coast. Right now at 4.40pm the temp is still on 30Cwith the humidity at 79%. Wind direction is still coming out of the West at 15km/h.
Tomorrow’s surf Forecast is showing wave height to be backing off again and a return to the small stuff. My prediction on the wind will be of an early morning light and variable breeze then turning SE briefly before dedicating around to the South by midday.
