Hello everyone and we hope your weekend is getting off to a nice start where ever you may be. Just a quick update today. We stayed local again this morning with Ketut shooting his friend around at Airport Right earlier today on the run in tide. With a small waves here along the West Coast today and yesterday really were a good day for surf schools and learners on the Outer reefs. Well we all now the best place to learn to surf in on a quite beach break but it would be a super Bali experience for the learners to take a reef taxi / bus out to the Outer reefs and experience the whole package.
This morning Ketut and his friend headed out just after 8.00am and as they passed Airport left through the boat channel Ketut counted around 50 surfers in the water. To me that’s a record number and I could imagine the Waikiki / Gold Coast with 10 surfers to a wave. But around at Airport Right there was only 25 surfers. Wave height on the reefs this morning was ranging between 1-3ft or waist to head high. Kuta Reef and adjacent break had more than 50 learners armed with soft tops. But like I said it’s been perfect conditions for learning to surf.
Weather wise today it’s been heating up with summer well and truly here. Right now at3.40pm the temp is still a very warm 31C with the humidity at 69%. Wind direction was fresh out of the East earlier but has since turned more to the SSE.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.07mtr Low at 4.14pm and tonight we will have a Full moon rising so expect some big tidal differences over the next few days.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is showing the wave models predicting wave height to continue dropping off with the wave “period” dropping from 13 seconds today down to 12 seconds tomorrow. Hopefully on the 16th we might see a little bump in wave height.
