Keramas came through with 2-3 foot waves and classic morning conditions yesterday, clean, lined-up, and warmly lit by the dry season sun. Ketut hit the beach from 6:30AM to 11AM. Interestingly, the forecast from Tuesday had suggested a bigger day, calling for 2.2 to 2.4 metre sets and plenty of punch. But what showed up was a bit more mellow, solid head-high on the bigger ones, but not quite the energy levels predicted. Still, the offshore wind held strong, and with around 20 surfers out, it made for a relaxed session with long walls and the odd cover-up for those on the hunt. All in all, it may not have matched the forecast’s punch, but it was well worth the paddle.
This afternoon in Denpasar it’s sitting on 30°C, with passing clouds and a breeze from the southeast at 13 km/h. It’s humid at 67%, with a few showers likely later in the day.
Here’s what’s happening tide-wise, tonight’s high tide is at 6:20PM at 1.6 metres. Tomorrow begins with a high tide at 6:34AM of 2.0 metres, followed by a low tide at 1:17PM at 1.0 metres, and a high at 7:32PM peaking at 1.6 metres
The surf forecast chart shows the swell tapering down through the remainder of Thursday and Friday, hovering around 1.6 to 1.8 metres with shorter 13 to 14 second periods. Winds remain light and favourable in the mornings, particularly for east coast breaks. Saturday will be pretty small, but Sunday will bring back 1.9 metre sets and a new pulse kicking off early next week. The dry season pattern’s well and truly locked in.
