Canggu Surf Report – 18th December 2025
Canggu served up fun, consistent surf on Thursday 18th December with waves sitting around the 3-4ft mark through the morning. The best conditions came early, with offshore winds and the tide running high, allowing Sandbar and the river mouth to both offer clean, workable walls. Sandbar had fewer numbers while the right in front of the river hdrew the bulk of the crowd. Around ten surfers spread out at Sandbar and closer to twenty along the river, but there was still plenty of room to find waves. Conditions stayed friendly through the session before the weather started to shift later in the day, making the morning the clear standout window.
Weather & Tides
It’s now 6am on Friday, conditions are warm and humid with passing cloud and light winds. Temperatures are sitting in the mid to high 20s early, building into the low 30s later in the day. It’s mostly calm through the morning before showers become more likely from late morning into the afternoon. Winds remain light overall, so mornings continue to be the safest window before any rain or onshore influence develops.
For the remainder of today, the tide peaks at 10:30 and then continues to drain through the afternoon before turning back toward an evening high. The falling tide suits the sand setups through the middle of the day, while the push toward the evening high should offer a softer, more forgiving wave for those heading out late.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead, the swell forecast points to similar conditions continuing over the next few days. Wave energy stays modest but consistent, sitting in the waist to chest-high range for most spots. There’s no major pulse on the horizon, but enough swell to keep daily sessions worthwhile. The better windows remain early mornings while winds are light and before afternoon showers move through. If anything changes, it’s a slow fade rather than a sharp drop, with no sign of a proper jump in size just yet. Potential signs of something coming late next week.
