Bali Surf Report – 9-17th December 2025
Sorry I haven’t been on it the past week or so. Ketut has been sending through the reports, I’m just playing catch up now, so you have a massive gallery of photos plus a summary of the conditions.
The past week across Keramas, the East Coast and Canggu delivered a run of smaller but clean and playful surf, with plenty of offshore mornings and manageable crowds. Keramas featured consistently through the period with mostly 3ft surf, peaking briefly to around 4ft at Canggu early in the window. Conditions were generally best early, especially with the tide pushing toward high, before cross shore winds crept in late morning on a few days.
Keramas on the 9th and again on the 13th and 17th saw fun waves around the 3ft mark, with clean faces early and just enough size to keep things interesting. Numbers stayed reasonable most days, though by mid month it was getting busier in the lineup as word spread. The East Coast on the 10th was quieter, offering similar sized waves with offshore winds and fewer surfers, making it a good option for anyone chasing space over size. Canggu on the 15th was the standout day of the period, pushing closer to 4ft with glassy conditions early and good peaks at both Sandbar and the river mouth.
Overall it’s been a classic December pattern. Small to mid sized surf, best early, with the focus on timing rather than chasing size.
Weather & Tides
As of late afternoon today, conditions around Denpasar are hot and humid with overcast skies. Temperatures are sitting around 31°C, feeling much warmer in the humidity, and strong westerly winds are pushing through this afternoon. Showers are around and conditions are unsettled, so expect a steamy evening with scattered rain and onshore winds lingering into the night.
The tide drops through the morning from the high at 9:52 before filling back in toward the afternoon and evening, so the better options will be early while winds are lighter, or later once the tide starts to push again. Midday is likely to be less favourable with lower water and more wind influence.
Surf Forecast
The swell forecast shows looking ahead from tomorrow, the surf remains on the smaller side but with enough consistency to keep Keramas and the East Coast ticking over. There’s no major swell on the cards in the short term, but a modest pulse should hold through the next couple of days before easing slightly. The key will be timing.
