Ok so how’s this latest 110+ photo gallery that we have for you guys today. Pretty well got everything covered with both left and rights, the Balangan lefts on the 18th were cranking with some solid 6ft+ waves peeling off as the tide started to run out. Perfect conditions and some perfect waves and at the peak of the swell there was only around 15 surfers in the water for it. But as the tide dropped right out the numbers jumped into the 50 mark. Which is funny I reckon cause when it gets more dangerous at Balangan on the those big low tides, right.
The first half of today’s gallery I shot out at Airport Right here in the baliwaves.com back yard on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. This wave is the best right hand wave in Bali hands down. Way better than Keramas or Canggu but a little bit harder to access being only by boat. Plus you need to know the right conditions etc for it to be working properly. Yesterday out there was all time with some solid double head high set waves. The only problem around this time of the year is that it can get crowded and yesterday was no exception with maybe 30+ surfers out there. Except for one Japanese surfer being sent back to the boat by a local my guys said there was a real friendly vibe going down out in the line up. I didn’t get to surf my fav right hander as I was on camera duty but my turn will come, you know that. BTW shooting photos out of a constantly rocking boat with hand held 600mm lens is tricky, you have to shoot in manual for starters, if you can..
Weather wise yesterday it was, like most everyday here in Bali. Just another perfect hot and sunny day in paradise.
This morning the 20th and right now at 6.05AM I’ll be getting ready to head down for our first surf recon on the Outer Reefs as soon as it’s light enough. So keep an eye on our Twitter feed and Instagram through out the day to see what’s going down.
The start of the Quiksilver Canggu Challenge kicks off this morning so if you want to see the best surfers in Indonesia battling it out for fame and fortune make sure you head to Canggu today. Ketut will be there with a camera to keep you covered if ya can’t be there ok.
The next tide today here in Bali will be a 2.3mtr High around 11.45AM

Slim mate, what was the issue with Japanese lad? I didn’t see what happened there?
We didnt catch any particular people having words but it was drop in central for a while there , Japanese style . So many smiles though , even for those in the washing machine being chewed up by those monster sets .

Airport Rights ,,,,,AAhhhh I surfed that place on my own for months in 1979 and 1980 / 81 . Could ride ya motorbike out to the end of the runway and park it in some bushes ,, great memories and some top quality waves on my lonesome , everybody else was surfing KR or ULe ,
