BALI
28th June 2013
Hi folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (bringing you the goods since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of BALI.
Ok so here’s our last photo installment from the final day’s surfing of the Oakley Pro Bali that finished up yesterday. Once again I gotta say it was a pure pleasure watching and shooting the pro’s through this contest.
Today’s 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing wave height to be breaking in the chest to well over head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Surfing conditions how ever were not the most ideal with the wind blowing on shore out of the NW. Not much has changed down there through out the day and our last midday check was even looking a little worse with the wind turned more WSW.
The next tide today is going to be a 0.3mtr Low around 7.30PM
Weather wise well today you wouldn’t think that we are just about right in the middle of our “dry season”. Heavy rain fell through the night and then started off again this morning at 8.30AM. There has been one or two brief moments of sun shine here on the West Coast but still way too much rain for late June. Right now at 3.15PM the sky is still looking dark and broody down to the South. Wind direction has been predominately from the SW. Temperature wise the mercury is currently on 28 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast for this weekend is looking very serious with a big new swell expected to start hitting our reefs and beaches sometime tomorrow. The peak will be on Saturday afternoon and should hold through Sunday morning. Then tapering off through Sunday and into Monday. Hopefully the winds will swing back the SE as predicted.
Alright Ketut and I are pretty contested out for now so we’ll be getting back to basics with our surf reports and photos. So if you want to know whats going on stay tuned to baliwaves.com over the weekend.
Don’t forget if your into instagram then remember to tag #baliwaves next time and share your photos on the baliwaves.
