BALI / INDONESIA
30th – 31st May 2016
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (bringing you a little bit of Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on your favorite tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so yesterday we did get caught a little un awares of the new swell that started to pour through here along Bali’s West Coast yesterday afternoon. Ketut and I were pre occupied fitting a new outrigger on our boat,of all days that we planned to do it of course. Wave height here in Tuban was pushing head high to double head high plus plus between Kuta reef and Airport Left. I also heard there was a hand full of surfers out at Uluwatu taking some mean drops. And also that Padang Padang had a few 6-8 footers grinding through. Oh well I guess we will just have to wait another 36hrs or so before it all happens again here in Bali.
As it shows in our latest photo gallery we snuck over to the East Coast this morning hoping to find some nice waves with a small crowd. Arriving on location around 8.00AM to find wave height in the chest to well over head high and even a few pushing the double head high mark. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with plenty of tube rides on offer with maybe 18 surfers in the water.
Our afternoon surf check on the Outer Reefs (3.00PM) was showing wave height to be backing off between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, with 3-4ft+ waves. But get ready for another solid swell to start checking in sometime tomorrow.
Weather wise this morning there was some could around through the early morning but it has been a mostly hot and sunny day. Right now at 4.00PM the temperature is still a warm 30 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction is coming out of the ESE @ 6-9knot. There is some more cloud moving in this afternoon and we may get a drop or two over night.
