BALI / INDONESIA
20th – 21st June 2016
Hello everyone and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible vies on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Lets kick off today’s feed with a 50+ photo gallery from where we surfed on the 20th at Funggu. As it shows in the photos wave height was in the 2-3ft range with a few 4 footers hitting the river mouth, with a clean off shore wind that lasted through until around 10.30 ish. Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad with the early morning session there being the most crowded. Looks like everyone wants to do a dawny at Funggu these days. But as the tide got towards the top of the High Echo and the Sandbar were getting smashed from the backwash. But all in all all my crew had a fun day at the Gu.
Yesterday the 21st and with wave height dropping out fast we made our way down to the Southern end of the island to everyone’s Favorite surf spot, Uluwatu. Wave height at Ulu was only in the 2-3ft range but still with good shape and more power than any other location in Bali, maybe even in all of Indo for that matter. Crowd wise my head count came to 38 surfers spread from Temple’s down to the top of the Racetrack, around 600 meters in total. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy through the morning with the off shore wind not kicking in until around 10.30AM.
Weather wise it was pur dry season stuff with just blue sky and sun shine for the beach people on vacation in Bali.
This morning the 22nd and it’s just gone 6.50AM and as soon as the crew finish their breakfast we’ll be heading back out there to see what we have on offer wave wise. So stay tuned to the baliwaves for more news and info through out the day via Twitter and Instagram, too easy.
The next tide in Bali today will be a 2.5mtr High @ 10.45AM

Breaking headlines in the Aussie news once again.. well if they can’t scare you off coming to Bali with their last news paper crap of tsunami’s, earthquakes, killer high tides and massive waves. Well their latest ones probably will, even though their are already reported Zika virus cases in Oz. The news headlines (nine news) are calling to abort your Bali vacation due to reported cases of Zika in Bali.
Take care department, last night I had an email from a friend who had all his camera equipment stolen from the car park at Balangan beach (southern end). So please don’t leave any valuables in your car or under your bike seat. If anyone does hear of anyone a bit dodgey selling a Canon 7DM2 and 100 – 400 lens drop us a line pronto.
