BALI / INDONESIA
15th – 16th August 2016
Hello surfers and thanks for stoppin by the baliwaves (keeping Bali surf reports real since way back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Selamat Hari Raya Merdeka Indonesia !
Ok so here’s another 50 photos from the last 2 days over here in Bali. Ketut was shooting over on the East Coast at Keramas. Wave height on the 15th was still pretty small but as it shows in the photos the 16th was solid. Clean and calm surfing conditions through the morning.
Today the 17th our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left in a very fun looking 2-4ft. The tide was still pushing in and the wind was already fresh off shore coming out of the ESE.
I gave Ketut the choice to stay here at home and help organize this office or go down to Uluwatu and shoot us some new photos. He chose exactly what I would have, Uluwatu. I haven’t had any news in from him yet so I guess he’s flat out blasting away at perfect Uluwatu waves. So expect some more fresh views of Uluwatu in the very near future ok.
Weather wise today here in Bali it’s been a lovely lovely warm sunny day (after 40 days and 40 nights in the Aussie winter it’s good to be back in summer clothes again) Right now at 2.00PM the outside temperature is sitting on 31 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 76%. Wind direction is now out of the SE at 8 – 12knot.
It also looks like this current bit of swell we have will be hanging around for a couple more days then backing off for a couple then cranking again after that. So make sure ya keep an eye on the baliwaves and keep your finger on the pulse.
Alright 40 days off island was hard to get through and I wouldn’t have gone anywhere near a southern hemisphere winter if it wasn’t important. I’d like to say thanks to everyone who sent “get well type” messages, much appreciated. I also have to say just how good Garuda Airlines service between Bali and Australia is. I drifted away from them over the last few years and tried the budget carriers, never again, the best biggest comfy seats, in flight service meals and entertainment.
