BALI / INDONESIA
22nd August 2016
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report since back in 1999) for the start of another surfing week. For the latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
This mornings 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs wasn’t looking real promising with only 1-2ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. That was also on the bottom of the tide and with the wind light on shore out of the NE.
So really there was only one thing to do and that was to head back up to Canggu and hope for a little pulse as the tide starts pushing in. That’s basically what happened, wave height at Canggu was in the 1-3ft range with a couple of rare 4 footers thrown in. Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad but again around that 9.30AM mark it was pretty busy, especially on the river mouth. Surfing conditions this morning were clean and tidy with a light off shore wind. The around 9.00AM the wind started swinging to the Western quad eventually dedicating to the S-SSW.
Weather wise it’s been a lovely hot and sunny day with the midday mercury up around 33 degree’s Celsius.

Ok thats about me for now but tune in again tomorrow as I think we might be seeing a touch more swell on the reefs and beach breaks of Bali.
