BALI / INDONESIA
28th – 29th August 2016
Hi everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report since back in 1999) for the start of another surfing week and our latest news and impossible to beat views on surfing and weather conditions here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so we had a pretty big day yesterday, starting off with our 6.45Am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. Wave height was in the 2-4ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was on the top but the wind was coming out of the NW.
It’s been awhile since we have seen some good waves over at Keramas so we thought we’d sneak over there while the wind was still light and variable. But we got skunked at Keramas with wave height only in the waist to shoulder high at best and the wind also light cross / on shore. But there was still 12-15 surfers in the water at the time.
Then from Keramas we headed right down to the Southern end of the island where we knew it would be cranking, Uluwatu. As it shows in today’s solid 70+ photo gallery as the tide dropped out the Racetrack section was turning it right on. The wind at Uluwatu was also still light on shore but the Racetrack section was still clean and glassy tucked in under the cliffs.
Alright crew it’s just gone 5.00AM here in Bali and we gotta start getting ready to go get some more waves. I’m hanging out to get in the water after the stuff I’ve been through. And finally I’m ready to get back out there. So for anyone that books a surfing stay at baliwaves this week I’ll cut you a 20% discount off the normal price.
