BALI / INDONESIA
10th – 11th September 2016
Good morning surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping surfers amped up for their next Indo surf trip since back in 1999) for our Sunday Session. With our latest news and the best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the Worlds No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Alright so yesterday mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was definitely showing some new swell hitting between Kuta Reef and Airport Left and Airport Right. At 6.45AM wave height was already pushing double head high plus with the tide running out and the wind light and variable. As usual with a bit of swell on the car park was pretty busy.
But as it shows in today’s fresh photo gallery our team was on the scene down at Padang Padang. Wave height on the Bali Pipeline was in the 4-6ft class and just starting to work when it starts getting in that size range. Not your all time Padang Padang that’s for sure but for the lucky one’s in the water there were still plenty of barrels to be had. Surfing conditions were fine with the wind blowing straight off shore. Over the years I’ve found we can always count on the month of September for some bing Spring swell.
There was also plenty of waves going a bit wider and peeling off down the long stretch of reef called Impossibles. Aptly named but I’m sure there were some good ones hitting the end section.
Bingin was also getting a little too much swell hitting it with wave height in the 3-5ft class, the bigger ones were tending to break out too far and too wide too hit the right part of the volcanic rock bottom barrel section.
Weather wise it was just another very warm and sunny day here on the holiday island.
This morning the 11th and wave height on the Outer Reefs between Kuta reef and Airports has dropped off a touch but still in the 3-5ft range. When the off shore Tradewind kicks in there should be a few good ones out there.
I’ve also had a phone through surf report from Canggu calling it pretty well washed out in the 4-5ft+ range. Too much water moving with the tide still running out and no surfers in the water on any of the 3 main breaks at Canggu.
I’ve also been getting some email from concerned holiday makers over the news paper selling crap about banning cold Bintangs in Bali. For all our friends, this debate happens every year for years gone by. It does sell some news papers but that’s about it, cheers !
