BALI
23rd July 2013
Hello again surfers and once again a big thank you for tuning into the baliwaves.com (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the best value for holiday dollar tropical surfing destination of BALI.
Right so as you’ve probably already guessed we were up early and back over to the East Coast this morning for another crack at Keramas’s World famous right handers. Seeing as though we’d scored there the last two days and seeing as though conditions were pretty much exactly the same. Arriving just after 7.00Am to find wave height still in that 2-3ft+ sector, maybe just a smidgen smaller than yesterday. But surfing conditions were clean and tidy with just a light off shore wind and 3 other surfers in the water.
We were surfing on the car park section a couple a hundred mtrs south of the main break. The main break was looking pretty good as well but there were at least 20 surfers in the line up out the front of the new resort. We hung out for two sessions again today and plenty of waves for everyone.
Ketut’s surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban had wave height in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Clean surfing conditions and plenty of surfers on all 3 main breaks. Middle Reef was picking up the bigger set waves as usual.
Over at G-Land our report came through at 7.00AM to call in wave height in the shoulder to head high range on Ledge section near Money Tree’s and only 4 surfers in the water with a light off shore wind.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave, G-LAND of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.
Our friends from the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands of Sumatra have also sent us over a surf report and a handful of photos. Which I loaded up last night onto their respective report page and it looks like they have been scoring some nice waves as well. So before ya’s check out of the baliwaves make sure you check out what they have been surfing.
Weather wise it was much better agin today with a mostly hot and sunny day with just a few clouds drifting through. Temperature wise the midday mercury would have easily busted through the low 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Ok crew that’s me for now and tomorrow we are expecting some new swell to fill in the gaps here in Bali. My team have had their fill of right handers and Keramas for now. so we’ll be hunting some left handers here on Bali’s premier West Coast. So catch ya’s again then.
Hey and don’t forget the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup (main event) is still on when it’s on with still plenty of waiting period time left on the clock. So hopefully we’ll get the swell and the contest will run. We’ll keep you in the loop with any news of the event.
NB: Petrol price has finally been increased here in Indonesia with a 40% hike so you can expect prices right across the board to follow suit. Being a small island everything we need comes here by truck. I would expect our beloved Bintang beer to be the first to be jacked.
