Bali
26th July 2013
Hello surfers and thanks for sropping into the baliwaves.com (on the road since 1999) for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the best value for surfing holiday dollar destination of BALI.
This morning I didn’t even bother with the morning surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Why, because the SE off shore Tradewind was up early and already doing 12-15knot by the time we left home base and heading south to Balangan. Arriving to find wave height peeling off on the point and through the middle section in the 3-5ft range and slightly protected by the surrounding cliff. There was already around 20 surfers spread through both sections and the tide running in. Typically at Balangan not every wave is perfect, and there’s not too many of those locations anywhere in the World anyway. But every now and again some waves were peeling off for 150mtrs or more.
Weather wise down on the bukit today there was still a fair bit of cloud hanging around through until late morning. From then on it was a bit more like an average Bali day in late July, hot and sunny.
This morning’s G-Land surf report came through at 8.00AM calling in some solid waves hitting Money Tree’s in the 4-6ft class. Clean off shore wind and no surfers in the water at the time.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave, G-LAND of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.
Ok folks thanks for your attention for a few minutes, stay tuned cause there’ll be waves cranking all over Bali through out the weekend and baliwaves will be out there shooting them for ya’s
Hey and don’t forget the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup (main event) is still on when it’s on with still plenty of waiting period time left on the clock. So hopefully we’ll get the swell and the contest will run. We’ll keep you in the loop with any news of the event.
NB: Petrol price has finally been increased here in Indonesia with a 40% hike so you can expect prices right across the board to follow suit. Being a small island everything we need comes here by truck. I would expect our beloved Bintang beer to be the first to be jacked.
