BALI / INDONESIA
31st May 2017
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for today’s news and our best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on everybodies first choice tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so as I mentioned in our Twitter section earlier this morning there wasn’t a lot happening surf wise on the Outer reefs of Tuban with only 1-3 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with a light off shore ESE wind.
From there we had a stop off at Bingin while we cleared the view in front of the baliwaves Surf Cam. Wave height at Bingin was a touch smaller than the Outers at 1-2ft+ while the tide was just starting to run in. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy.
After Bingin it was straight down to Uluwatu knowing that wave height was going to be a foot or two bigger than these locations. As it shows in this current photo gallery wave height at Uluwatu was showing 2-4ft waves hitting the Main Peak with a good crew of surfers in the water at 9.30AM as could be expected.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly hot and sunny one with a few clouds driften past. Temperature wise the mercury easily surpassed the 30C mark by midday.
Ok hopefully we’ll be starting to see some bigger and better waves around Bali and most of Indo for that matter tomorrow. I’m pretty sure there will be plenty of core surfers en route as I type getting into position for these next two coming swells about to smash into the islands. It’s so good to see all the usually dormant perfect set ups come alive again with every new swell, good luck everyone.
I’ve also just loaded a new surf report and photo gallery from our friends up at Damai Bangalows / South Sumatra so check that out while your here.
Swell Outlook, well batten down the hatches it’s going to be on this week here in Bali. Tomorrow afternoon on the 31st we should start to see a medium sized swell hit the islands that will produce waves all over the place through until the 2nd of June. Then shortly there after we will see another medium sized swell commence on the 4th with a peak on the 5th that is going to produce some big waves holding into the 6th. Even further out there’s a couple more solid systems in transit to Indonesia so get ready or stay tuned to the original Bali surf report website.
Up dates dept, I’ve loaded a new Body board photo gallery, for those that care. I’ve also dropped a new G-Land surf report from our friends at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Resort. Plus a fresh and wave jammed report from Mark Flint from KabuNohi Surf Resort up in Lagundry Bay / Nias, Hit this high lighted link to check out an escape surf trip to Nias right now.
I’ve also done a quick promo for Indonesian Explorer’s Mike and Bill Boyum who opened up Bali and G-Land for us later day surfers so make sure you check that out down in our news feed. Make sure you get your copy of this book, if your an Indo nut you’ll love it.
