BALI / INDONESIA
18th – 19th July 2017
Hello surfers and thanks for taking the time out to drop by the baliwaves (keeping you up to date with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and hard to beat views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Alright then here’s a hot new batch of photos that we shot down on the Southern end of the island on the 17th. There were only 5 other surfers in the water when our crew hit it so there was a lot of surfers to shoot. But the waves were nice in the 2-4ft class with some peeling off for a 100yrds. Clean off shore wind out of the ESE before turning SE around midday.
Yesterday the 18th we were up pretty early and on our way over to the East Coast hoping to score some more un crowded waves for the team. Arriving on location at 7.00AM to find 2-4 footers with clean and glassy surfing conditions but there were already 15 surfers in the line up. Gone are the days of scoring Keramas with just a few mates. But as the tide started to drop out our crowd dropped off and I think we did another pretty good job.
Today the 19th and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still showing some 2-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The wind was light out of the ENE and the tide running out, making Middle Reef the best option for a paddle.
Ketut and our crew have called through from up the coast a little ways calling 2-4ft waves with a clean off shore wind and everyone has smiles on their dials.
So hang in there and we’ll get some new photos from Keramas and today edited and on line for ya’s later this afternoon. Have a great day and talk to you again soon.
Weather wise it’s been clear sailing here on the holiday island with clean blue sky and midday beach temperatures up around 30 degree’s Celsius. Light and variable wind through the early AM before the SE Trade Wind kicks in around 9-9.30AM each day.
