BALI / INDONESIA
19th – 20th July 2017
Hi folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (the one and only original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for today’s latest news and our best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on everybodies favorite tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so we have a mega photo gallery for you today as you may have already flicked through them. 110 photos featuring some fun little wave we scored over at Keramas but with the bulk being shot here on Bali’s West Coast yesterday in some slightly more serious waves pushing the double head high class.
This morning the 20th and we never had time for an early morning surf check on the Outer Reefs but we did have the intel from yesterday afternoon showing 2-4 footers peeling off on Kuta Reef through till sunset. Some very nice fun waves and not a heck of a lot of surfers for the quality of the waves coming through. No this morning we were up early and hoping to sneak in a wave at one of my favorite locations on the East Coast. But not to be, we arrived at 6.45AM to find a nice 4ft of swell breaking left and right but pretty trashed by the already fresh ESE Trade Wind, no surfers in the water.
So from there we decided to head back to Balangan an hour to the South of us. Balangan never let us down with well over head set waves in the 4ft class and clean as you like off shore wind. There were only maybe 10 surfers in the water when we paddled out alongside the point. I waited for my first one and lucked into a 150yrd ride and was just getting some rhythm happening when I was struck down by a double leg calf muscle cramps that ended my session early only after 1.5hrs. I also have to admit that all the beautiful girls all along the beach were doing a damn fine job of creating distraction.
Weather wise it’s been a typical Bali type beach day, blue sky and loads of sun shine, temperature wise right now at 2.30PM the mercury is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 73&. Wind direction is now coming out of the SE at 10-14knot.
The next tide today will be a 1.9mtr High around 8.00PM. We also have a New Moon rising on the 23rd
