BALI / INDONESIA
3rd – 4th September 2017
Hello surfers and thanks for checking the balwiaves (keeping you amped up for your next Indo surf trip since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok well yesterday the 3rd of Sept and wave height was pretty sad here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban and the wind fresh out of the SE so we had no alternative other than to make our way down to the Southern end of the island and see what was going down. Our first stop was at Balangan, beautiful as always but only a 1-2ft wave breaking and around 50 learners taking advantage of the conditions. From there we cruised past Padang Padang and Impossible’s where it was pretty well flat. So Uluwatu it was and the end of the line, but there’s always a wave down at Uluwatu !
As it shows Ulu was still only in the 1-3ft range but every now and again she was delivering some well over head set waves up on the Temple section, and some nice tube rides to go with it. Small waves usually equal big crowds at Uluwatu but we were pretty lucky and the numbers were ok through until around 10.00AM when most of our Euro friends start to wake up and head for the beach. As the tide started to drop out the Racetrack section had a few running through but it was breaking right on the rock shelf and shallow.
Weather wise it was a real nice day down on the bukit with the midday temperature a pleasant 30 degree’s Celsius.
Today the 4th and we snuck over to the East Coast this morning. Even though we knew it would be light on shore we were hoping to see a little more size showing with the SSW direction. We didn’t do too bad with the off well over head set wave and a crew of 20 surfers in the water. Surfing conditions were still ok even though the wind was light on shore out of the SE.
Weather wise, hot and sunny.
