BALI / INDONESIA
8th – 9th April 2018
Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you up to date with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for the start of another surfing week and our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from every sane surfer’s first choice tropical surfing holiday destination and the gateway into Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali !
Alright then as it shows in this latest photo gallery from yesterday the 8th there was some pretty slick waves peeling off for ys again. Averaging head to double head high with a couple of bigger ferak sets thrown in for good measure. But as I mentioned yesterday it was a little more busy than what we had scored the previous sessions at that spot. But all in all there were still plenty of waves for everyone, just a few speed bumps to dodge around.
This morning the 9th and we are once again live on location at Balian up on Bali’s West Coast just off the Highway from hell. This mornings drive wasn’t too bad as we were not run off the road by maniac suicidal bus and truck drivers delivering their pay loads from Java. But there was plenty of over turned trucks along the side of the “highway” as evidence that this road is extremely dangerous.
Anyway here at Balian this morning we’ve got some clean and very tidy head to double head high A frames peeling off. How eevr for some reason or another it’s probably the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen up here with groups of 10 and more “surfers” paddling out together. Still lots of waves for those in the right mind set. I’m out of the water today and it sucks, yesterday I got whacked by my own board pretty hard so I’ll give the body a rest and hopefully good to go again tomorrow (fingers crossed).
I’ve also thrown in the last couple of photos showing what it’s looking right in the water right now at 8.30AM. There’s also a couple of photos showing our man Ketut handing over the baliwaves “best tube rider” prize to Keramas Boardrider and our good friend “Mink Doktor” yesterday morning. We are more than happy to offer a little support to any of the smaller Boardrider clubs here in Bali.
Weather wise this morning here in Bali we’ve got a big blue sky and right now the temperature is already on 27 degree’s Celsius at 8.30AM, Humidity is at 80% and the wind coming lightly out of the E-NE. The next tide here in Bali will be a 1.2mtr Low at 9.15AM
