BALI / INDONEISA
23rd May 2018
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and the absolute best views on surfing and weather conditions right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so today the 22nd and we were not expecting to see too much swell happening out there so we planned to make a run up the West Coast to Balian. Seeing as there hasn’t been much rain we knew the water would be nice and clear for a change. We pulled into the car park around 6.50AM, and not too surprised to only see wave height in the 1-3ft class with an occasional slightly over head set wave on the peak. Due to the small sized waves on offer at present there were also quite a few other *surfers with the same idea, so it was a little congested with learners. But we did get a few waves and fun was had by all so that is a good day out in my mind. We did also see a couple of “men in grey suits jumping” but there were plenty of bait fish to keep them occupied today.
Weather wise it was a real nice day up the West Coast with nothing but blue sky. The wind was light off shore early before the SE Trade wind started to kick in around 10.30AM, blowing cross / on shore at Balian when it does.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, –1US$=Rp14,075 –1AU$=Rp10,650 –1EU$=Rp16,600 That US buck is just going from strength to strength lately.
Ok crew I’m beat it’s surf check time down at the beach, not a bad excuse for some sate’s and beers anyway right.
