BALI iNDONESIA
8th – 9th September
Hi folks and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves (contact us now) (The one and only baliwaves website since back in 1999, so watch out for fake baliwaves) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions. From right here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Well here in Bali yesterday there was a bit of swell around but not as big as what was predicted and had everyone I spoke to saying “should be big this Friday and Saturday right” I never got down to Uluwatu but I did take a good look on the Ulu free to view webcam we have on site (thanks to Surfline) and there looked to be some head to double head high waves rolling through from the Peak to to the Racetrack as the tide was still filling in around 6.30AM.
Here on the Outer Reefs wave height was in the 2-4ft+ class on my afternoon surf check. The tide was mid on the run up to high and Middle Reef looked to be where the action was. The off shore SE Tradewind was also blowing pretty strong out there to make things a little more interesting.
But for a change in scenery and as it shows in our latest photo gallery thanks to Ray up at the Kandui Surf Resort in the Mentawai island chain for sending us through a bunch of photos from where he and his crew have been surfing the last week. Looks like they have been scoring some fun waves as per usual in their part of Indo.
Weather wise yesterday it was mostly cloudy through the morning before coming out hot and sunny by midday and through the afternoon. I’m sure there would have been a lot of people down enjoying another classic Bali sun set over the ocean along our West Coast.
Ok it’s still dark out side right now at 5.20AM but pretty soon I’ll be heading out again to see what we can find on the waves scene.
Ok and a big thank you to all our friends who helped out and kicked in some donations to help the people in Lombok that have lost everything from the current spate of Earthquakes. I received some feed back from the organizers of the gofund me appeal and it was very positive. Hopefully we will get another up date in the near future. Check out the blog on baliwaves.com if you haven’t already, thanks.
