BALI
30th August 2013
Hi surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (delivering the goods since 1999)
for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the happy little tropical surfing holiday island of BALI.
Sorry about yesterday’s “no show” as Ketut and I snuck off and pushed the boat for a spot of sport fishing. I’ve also got some fish photo eveidence to load up for ya’s into our fishing report page so keep yar eye’s on our “recent posts” section for that to appear.
This morning and our first surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban wasn’t looking to good swell wise with only 1-2 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Even at 7.00AM the off shore SE Trade wind was al’ll find ready blowing hard. Middle Reef did have a few small ones with the dropping tide.
As it shows in today’s photo gallery, we shot off down to Uluwatu to see what was happening on the Racetrack section through the bottom of the tide and hopefully catch a predicted small spike in wave height. On arrival there wasn’t much more than waist to shoulder high with the odd freak head high set wave breaking on the Track. Surfing conditions were perfect with the wind coming out of the East and blowing straight off shore.
As the tide bottomed out and started to run back in wave the waves did pick up a notch or too and got a lot more consistent. We packed it in around 2.30PM expecting some major Friday afternoon traffic on the road and so I could get this done before we start tonight’s fish BBQ with our guests.
This mornings Keramas surf report came through at 6.30AM calling wave height in the waist to head high range with 18 surfers already in the water. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy. I’ve also got a handfull of photos our man has sent through from the last couple of days over at K-Mas and you’ll find those in our Readers Report page.
Today’s G-Land surf report (10.30am) was calling chest to head high waves on Money Tree’s with some bigger set waves breaking on Kongs. Perfect surfing conditions with the SE off shore wind already cranking. We’ve also got a new G-Land Photo Gallery and you know where to find that of course.
So if anyone is interested in going over to the legendary left hand wave, G-LAND of East Java contact me and baliwaves.com will hook ya’s up with a solid 10% discount.
NB: all photos on baliwaves.com are edited to low resolution / quality as possible for easier viewing. We do have all the original photo files for safe keeping and just contact us if you need a full resolution / quality original.
Weather wise it was mostly sunny down on the bukit this morning with some cloud moving through. A little more cloud moving in down there and maybe even a few drops of rain down on that end of the island this afternoon.
